What I'm up to — March 2025

Now

Updated from downtown Chicago.

St. Patrick's gigs

It's a busy season for Irish music, and I'll be contributing to the ruckus. This month you can find me playing with my friends Frank Quinn and Stefan Santiago in the Chicago area. See the “shows” page for more info.

New job

In January I started a new job consulting full-time as a web developer for INPRNT.com. It has been a happy landing after the previous agency I was with let go of all its employees this past fall (myself included).

INPRNT is a busy marketplace for artwork — it ships products all over the world. So far I've been focused on making it easier and faster for people to purchase things by adding new checkout methods (like Apple Pay and Google Pay), and suggesting shipping addresses to customers as they type them.

I've also given the cart design a bit of a facelift, particularly for mobile. (The previous design was 15+ years old.)

I've always been interested in working as a consultant, as I hoped it could provide me the opportunity to work on interesting projects, while also allowing for some flexibility with my life as a musician. So far I'm happy to report that it's been great.

I've been listening to…

The 80s pop band Wang Chung. I didn't listen to these guys when I was younger. I think the band name struck me as a little lame — but I missed out! I dig the songs and the 80s-style guitar tone and production.
